In an attempt to give its users more control, Twitter will now allow people to customize the way others reply to their tweets.

Kayvon Beykpour, Vice President of Product, saying that “control” is “The primary motivation,” revealed the platform’s plans of “tailoring” replies during Twitter’s CES presentation. The currently-undergoing-testing feature is centered around the reply option—users will be able to choose who can reply to their tweets: anyone, accounts the user is following, only those tagged in the original tweet, or no one at all.

Along with the already implemented feature to hide unwanted replies under the tweet, the new feature might be optimal for users to build communications online analogous to the ones IRL or simply have more control in the conversation space.
