After being postponed due to the COVID-19 lockdown, a March-scheduled pop-up exhibition by Tom Sachs titled Tom Sachs: Retail Experience is arriving at Isetan Shinjuku in Tokyo, Japan. Conceptualized last year when Sachs visited Japan for his “Tea Ceremony” exhibition at Opera City Art Gallery in Tokyo, the American artist has announced the new dates of the exhibition which is set to take place from September 29 to November 30, 2020.

The exhibition will showcase a new range of bricolage pieces, furniture, and collaborative products plus signature home decor such as the artist’s unmissable Shop Chairs, Shop Tables, and Command Service Module Lamps. Apart from the mentioned pieces that will be up for grabs, his long-time sold-out Chess Set will also be available in a limited edition run. You will also find some apparel offerings, including caps, tees, and accessories featuring official Tom Sachs Studio branding. Additionally, the artist will mount new artworks in the store’s 12 windows alongside revealing two new video works at the venue.

“We chose the Isetan Shinjuku store because of our love for Japan. Our values of hard work, craftsmanship, dedication, respect, and ‘love’ are met and exceeded in Japan,” said Sachs in a statement.
