Rostam, has shared a new song called “Unfold You,” along with a video shot on the Dune Shacks Trail in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Hari Nef appears in the clip, as a result of her being in the same quarantine pod as Rostam earlier this year. Watch it below. It’s his first new solo song in two years.

According to Rostam, “Unfold You” has been in the works since 2017, but it took time to come together. “In some ways it had to—because the recording of the song tracks an evolution and a personal metamorphosis,” he said in a statement about the song. “As I write this, I’m finishing a record that deals intrinsically with the subject of change and change was what I was feeling personally and searching for musically.” “Unfold You” is built around a sample of “Papas Fritas” by Nick Hakim

Rostam released his first solo album Half-Light in 2017. Since then, he’s collaborated on new material with the Dirty Projectors, Maggie Rogers, Lykke Li, Ra Ra Riot, and his former bandmates in Vampire Weekend. He produced Clairo’s debut album Immunity last year and worked on Haim’s Women in Music Pt. III, which came out in June.
