Seems like Netflix doesn’t really like the idea of you sharing your precious password to your friends and family.

The streaming giant is now testing how to stop it, a new report suggests. Some users have even been met with a message while using another person’s account, “If you don’t live with the owner of this account, you need your own account to keep watching,” similar to how Spotify manages their plans, by asking members to verify that they live with the plan manager by providing their full address.

A Netflix spokesperson simply noted that “this test is designed to help ensure that people using Netflix accounts are authorized to do so.” Currently, a Basic Netflix plan in the U.S. costs $8.99 USD per month, a Standard plan (play on two separate devices) costs $13.99 USD per month, while a Premium (play on four separate devices) costs $17.99 USD.
