Something Apple wasn’t very vocal about was updating its “Face with Medical Mask” emoji to appear more pleased behind its covered face. In iOS 14.2, the new emoji will replace its previous Medical Mask emoji, which virtually remained identical over the past 12 years, and which has been reported to look a bit dull and lifeless.

The new emoji is essentially the already existing “Smile Face” emoji, but with a mask over the face. It will be part of the next iOS 14.2 update that is expected to be announced next week during Apple’s upcoming iPhone 12 event.
