St. Vincent and founding member of the band Sleater Kinney Carrie Brownstein play themselves in a new Bill Benz-directed film, premiering at the Sundance Festival next year.

The synopsis explains: “When St. Vincent sets out to make a documentary about her music, the goal is to both reveal and revel in the unadorned truth behind her on-stage persona. But when she hires a close friend to direct, notions of reality, identity, and authenticity grow increasingly distorted and bizarre.”

At the Sundance, besides The Nowhere Inn, will debut a new Taylor Swift documentary Miss Americana, Matt Furie’s Feels Good Man on making Pepe the Frog, and feminist and activist Gloria Steinem’s biopic The Glorias.
