Despite the inclusion of the street sport into the (postponed) Olympic Games, some individuals like Richie Banks are keeping its DIY spirit alive. Banks and his crew have built a whopping five hand-built parks in the Nevada desert over the course of 2020. The last one, the “Most American” is his boldest undertaking yet, and the process behind it was recently captured in a new mini-documentary that premiered at The Berrics.

In the 17-minute long video, the crew can be seen fabricating metal for the park’s rails, having a casual run-in with the Reno Police Department — though no Reno 911– level hijinks ensure — and at the end, building a fully-fledged skatepark, transforming an abandoned ditch into a communal hub for desert skaters. The project was done in partnership with Reno’s Classic Skate Shop and stars Banks’ friends like Chad Caruso.

Check out the video below and head over to The Berrics for more skateboarding-related content.
