Pokémon relevance does not seem to cease any time soon. Following another box set from September that sold for $198,000, this time, the bids are for a box of rare Pokémon cards sealed in its original shrinkwrap, considered the “pinnacle of Pokémon box collecting,” notes Heritage Auction in the description.

The Pokémon First Edition Base Set Sealed Booster Box (Wizards of the Coast, 1999) contains 36 booster packs, with a total of 396 cards included in the set. “These box sets have become very scarce, due to their low print run, and very few still remain in the sealed state. Since the cards haven’t been handled, they are likely all in GEM MINT condition,” Heritage Auctions explained. The pre-auction for this particular box set is currently closing in at a whopping $300,000.

Head to Heritage Auctions’ website to learn more. The final auction will start on November 19.
