The highly anticipated outdoor exhibition by the legendary Yayoi Kusama announced last year draws closer. The unique New York Botanical Garden Yayoi Kusama exhibition will be open May 9 – November 1, 2020.

Spanning across the 250-acre ground, the exhibition will include new and archival work from the artist’s prolific career, where visitors will be guided through the exhibition by polka-dotted trees. The exhibition will also feature highlights, including a mysteriously-titled “obliteration greenhouse” and another Infinity Room, specially adapted for the outdoors, which will change according to the lighting conditions, as well as floral installations that are concerned with nature. In addition, some work Kusama created as a teenager in Japan will also be on display for the first time. This will include sketchbooks she filled with drawings of peonies.
